What is the MCS? : The MCS (Michigan Central Station) served as the main train station serving the city of Detroit from 1913 until 1987, when it closed. It currently is sitting abandoned.

Where is the MCS? : The MCS is located in southwest Detroit on Michigan Avenue, just west of the old Tiger Stadium.

Why is the MCS still abandoned? : This is a good question. Why don't you ask the city about that? I'm sure they will be unable to give you an answer, either.

Who owns the MCS? : Control Terminals LTD, the same company that owns the Ambassador Bridge (Only bridge that connects Detroit to Windor, Canada).

Are there any plans to do something with the MCS? : Yes. Over the last few months, work crews have been cleaning out the inside of the MCS. This includes clearing debris and draining the flooded basements. As far as longterm goals in this, I believe Control Terminals is going to try and pretty the place up and try to get some tenants in it.

So how old are your pictures? : 95% of the photos on this website were taken during the summer and fall of 1999.

Do you still go inside the MCS? : No. Security has been beefed up noticably there over the last 2 years and so (to me) doesn't seem worth the risk.

Do you give tours? : Inside? No. On the other hand, if you want to be shown around and maybe have some help scouting for ways in, there's nothing wrong with that. I just won't enter the building.
